BTS Shares Reason For Composing English Single ‘Dynamite’
Due to the challenges COVID-19 has brought to the world today, BTS dedicated their time to rise above these trying times by composing an English single to inspire their fans and the world.
In a recent interview with USA Today, BTS has shared why they changed their format of writing songs in Korean as the boyband is set to release an English song.
In the interview, BTS has stated that the most challenging part about making their upcoming single ‘Dynamite’ is that the group has to step out of their comfort zone as they break their usual composing style and write a song purely in English.
Firstly, Kpop idols didn’t intend to write an English song because they didn’t want to change their identity. However, this change was unexpected just as the whole world also didn’t expect the COVID-19 to hit the world.
BTS member Jungkook stated that writing ‘Dynamite’ was more interesting than hard, and it was an exciting challenge for them. Group leader RM added that this project could be described as a “Fun-Hard” challenge.
BTS stated that they wanted to do something for the world, something suitable for everyone as we all face the COVID-19 pandemic. RM said that who would have thought about COVID-19 being this big? No group meetings, no karaokes, no concerts.
RM continued that “we never thought to sing this song in English fully. The thought just came to us during the process of making our album.”

The single was also announced during BTS’s V LIVE broadcast on July 26, stating the group has prepared an album to their fans in the second half of this year, but they decided to release a single first because they want to reach out to their fans as soon as possible.
