JBTC's '18 Again' Reveals Poster And Plot Of The Upcoming Drama
Main poster JTBC's Upcoming Drama "18 Again" revealed.
The Korean adaption of "18 Again" was based on "17 Again" by an American film. The story started in 1989, as 17-year-old star athlete Mike O'Donnell's girlfriend, Scarlet Porter, tells him that she is pregnant, just before his likely scholarship highschool championship basketball.
Mike played the first few seconds, then walks off the court and goes after Scarlet, abandoning his hopes of getting to college and achieving a career that would support their future.
Years later, a 37-year-old Mike finds his life stagnant and leaving any project he started. Scarlet, his wife, and mother of their children filed for a divorce, forcing him to move in together with his geeky, yet an extremely wealthy friend, Ned Gold.
He quit his job after he was omitted for a promotion he deserves after sixteen years at the corporate, in favor of a younger female co-worker named Wendy, who only had two months' experience. His high school children, 17-year-old Maggie and 16-year-old Alex want nothing to do with him. Later, while driving, he encountered a janitor at a bridge, transforming Mike back to his 17-year-old self.
In this Korean drama, "18 Again" is the story of a husband near divorce who finds himself back in his body 18 years ago. Hong Dae Young (Yoon Sang Hyun) changed his name to Woo Young (Lee Do Hyun) after becoming 18 years old again.
Meanwhile, Kim Ha Neul plays his wife Jung Da Jung, who joins the workforce as an anchorwoman later in life after raising their two children.
In their poster, the actors are in a cut-out shape of 18, where the arms of 37-year-old Hong Dae Young (Yoon Sang Hyun) stretches out towards Jung Da Jung with his 18-year-old self below (Lee Do Hyun).
The drama premieres this September 7, taking up the slot of "The Good Detective."
