Amid an ongoing legal dispute with ADOR, the members of NewJeans have officially launched independent activities under a new name, NJZ (pronounced "Enjayzee"), signaling a new chapter in their career. In anticipation of their upcoming release, member Hanni has unveiled a striking new look through a behind-the-scenes teaser video.

On February 8, NJZ's official social media account shared a short video featuring Hanni. In the clip, she appears with her hair slicked back, wearing a white lace mask, red-colored contact lenses, and bleached white eyebrows-an intense transformation that hints at a bold new concept.

On February 7, the members of NewJeans confirmed in an exclusive interview with CNN that they had changed their team name to NJZ. They also announced their participation in 'Complex Live,' a concert event held as part of the global street fashion and culture festival 'ComplexCon' at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong from March 21 to 23. The members shared their determination, stating, "We are doing everything we can to return to the top and resolve all these issues," adding, "At this point, we have completely lost trust in ADOR. We believe we will win this dispute with HYBE and ADOR."

While adopting a new name, the members reassured fans that they have not entirely let go of the NewJeans identity. "NewJeans is still very special to us, and we know our fans hold it dear as well," they expressed.

During a live broadcast on NJZ's official account, the members discussed their upcoming plans. "Did you all see the teaser photos with red lenses today? This is part of a major new concept. You can think of it as a sneak peek of our new song," they shared. "We'll be releasing a new track in March, and we're so excited and nervous. NJZ's debut song will officially be released on March 23."

The group also touched on their decision-making process regarding the comeback. "We had a lot of discussions about how to announce the song, but ultimately, what we and our Bunnies (NewJeans fandom name) wanted most was to perform on stage," they explained. "We'll also have an agency set up soon, so please don't worry too much."
