Kim Dae-ho’s First Post-MBC Gig—Joins ‘The Great Guide 2’ After Going Freelance
Park Myung-soo, Kim Dae-ho, and Choi Daniel are set to appear in The Great Guide 2.
MBC Every1's The Great Guide is a reality travel show where long-term foreign residents of Korea act as guides for travelers visiting their home countries, introducing them to hidden spots only locals know. After airing as an eight-week pilot in October 2023, the show received overwhelming support from viewers and was officially scheduled for a 15-week run in March 2024.
Now, The Great Guide 2 is confirmed to return in the first half of 2025. The first trio of travel mates consists of entertainment veteran Park Myung-soo, trending announcer Kim Dae-ho, and actor Choi Daniel, known for his unexpectedly sharp variety skills. With three men of completely different looks, personalities, and character styles, curiosity is mounting about their travel destination and the local guide who will lead them.
In The Great Guide 1, Park Myung-soo took on the challenge of exploring India, known for being a highly demanding travel destination. His signature witty honesty delivered plenty of laughs, while his warm and caring side toward his fellow cast members won viewers' hearts. This time, as he embarks on a journey with younger castmates Kim Dae-ho and Choi Daniel, fans are eager to see a new side of "big brother" Park Myung-soo.
One of the most anticipated aspects of The Great Guide 2 is Kim Dae-ho's participation. The highly sought-after announcer charmed audiences with his romantic Italy trip during the pilot season. Notably, The Great Guide 2 marks Kim's first confirmed variety show appearance since declaring his move to freelance broadcasting. Fans are intrigued by what drew him back to this particular program.
Choi Daniel, known for his striking visuals and surprising comedic timing, is also expected to make an impact. A former model-turned-actor, he has consistently delivered a mix of charismatic looks and clumsy, endearing moments in past variety appearances. Given that The Great Guide 2 is a travel show, his unfiltered personality is expected to shine even brighter.
Additionally, the combination of Kim Dae-ho and Choi Daniel is a key point to watch. Both have been major comedic forces in MBC's top variety programs, I Live Alone and The Manager. Seeing these two individually is entertaining enough, but their dynamic together promises an even more hilarious chemistry.
The Great Guide 2 is set to air in the first half of 2025.
