Kim Soo-hyun has officially addressed allegations regarding his relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron, releasing a detailed nine-page statement through his agency, Gold Medalist. The statement, which was initially planned for release next week, was issued urgently after Kim reportedly experienced severe emotional distress.

Gold Medalist stated, "We intended to refute GaSeYeon's claims with solid evidence next week. However, due to Kim Soo-hyun's psychological instability early this morning, we have decided to release our response immediately."

In the statement, Kim's agency confirmed that he and Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship but disputed claims that their romance began when she was underage. "Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a relationship from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020. The claim that he dated her when she was a minor is false."

Gold Medalist also refuted GaSeYeon's allegations regarding the timeline of their photographs, stating that the images presented by the YouTube channel were not taken in 2016, as claimed. "The photos that Kim Sae-ron posted on Instagram on March 24, 2024, and those released by GaSeYeon on March 11, 2025, were all taken on the same day in the winter of 2020," the agency stated. They added that the clothing Kim Sae-ron wore in the photos was from a brand's 2019 collection, further discrediting the claim that the images dated back to 2016.

The agency also provided metadata evidence confirming that another image, revealed by GaSeYeon on March 12, 2025, was taken on Christmas Eve of 2019. "The photos that GaSeYeon presented were all taken after Kim Sae-ron became an adult. There is no possibility that any of them were taken in 2016," Gold Medalist stated.

Regarding letters Kim Soo-hyun allegedly sent to Kim Sae-ron during his military service, the agency asserted that they had been taken out of context. "These were letters written to multiple acquaintances, and GaSeYeon has deliberately misrepresented them as romantic exchanges." The agency further accused GaSeYeon of distorting Kim Sae-ron's longtime social media nickname to imply it was an exclusive pet name used between the two.

Gold Medalist also addressed allegations that Kim Soo-hyun had neglected Kim Sae-ron's financial struggles. "Following Kim Sae-ron's DUI incident, the total contract penalties and damages amounted to approximately 1.14 billion KRW ($850,000). The company worked to reduce her financial burden, negotiating the final amount down to 700 million KRW ($520,000)."

The agency further clarified that it had ultimately absorbed Kim Sae-ron's outstanding debt. "By December 2023, it became clear that Kim Sae-ron would be unable to repay the remaining amount, so we covered the loss. The full write-off was recorded in our audit report on April 1, 2024."

Explaining why legal proceedings had initially been pursued regarding the debt, Gold Medalist stated, "If the company had unilaterally covered Kim Sae-ron's financial obligations, it could have constituted breach of fiduciary duty for our executives. There was also a risk that such an action would not be recognized as a legitimate business expense."

The agency emphasized that their actions were based on legal and financial consultations. "During our audit in early 2024, we had to determine how to handle the remaining balance. Based on recommendations from our legal and accounting teams, we followed due process to ensure that our executives would not be at risk of legal liability."

Gold Medalist concluded by reiterating its intent to take legal action against GaSeYeon. "We are reviewing legal measures against those spreading false information. We will not tolerate actions that defame our artist's reputation with baseless claims."

The controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun continues to escalate, with both sides standing firm in their positions. As GaSeYeon hints at further revelations, industry insiders and the public are closely watching how Kim Soo-hyun's legal team will proceed.
