GUGUDAN's Kim Sejeong Drops Her New Single Release Date And Teaser
Gugudan's Kim Sejeong is back with new songs!
Kim Sejeong publicly released on August 10 at midnight, KST, her preparations to launch a virtual track later this month. (via Soompi)
The singer will release the new single 'Whale' at 6 pm KST on August 17. Kim Sejeong has also released an exciting preview clip ahead of the launch. Kim Sejeong's previous solo return this year was in March when she dropped her first mini single record 'Plant.'
ABOUT KIM SEJEONG
Kim Sejeong is an active member artist of girl group Gugudan and actress under the managing label Jellyfish Entertainment. In 2016 she was indeed a co-host of the Talents for a Sale television program. She even played a prominent role in teenage drama school 2017, and I Wanna Hear Your Song in the 2019 mystery romance-comedy.
KIM SEJEONG'S CAREER
In 2012, Sejeong took part in the second season of the talent series K-pop Star 2 at sixteen. She didn't make it through the second phase classification selection, but Yang Hyun-suk took her back to the screening round as a wildcard, where she asked to perform a duet with co-participant Jo Yoo-min of Taeyang's 'I Need A Girl.'
For the last selection session, Yang selected both of them, pairing Kim with competitors Nicole Curry and Lee Soo-Kyung. She was, however, removed from the contest at the final round.
Together along with co-trainees Kim Na-young and Kang Mi-na, they represented Jellyfish Entertainment and joined the reality competition program Produce 101 in January 2016 to debut in a Mnet girl band.
During the first episode of the show, all three were allocated to "Group A,"
and Sejeong the reached first spot ranking on many occasions, receiving the title "God Sejeong."
The program concluded on April 1, 2016, and I.O.I's final line-up, consisting of the top 11 actual vote-winners, was revealed. Sejeong placed second individually with 525,352 votes and became an official girl group member of I.O.I.
