MAMAMOO's Hwasa Earns Accolades for Her Graceful Handling of Onstage Mishap
In a display of unwavering professionalism, MAMAMOO's Hwasa kept her poise during a minor stage accident, leaving audiences in awe of her cool-headedness and earning accolades for her conduct.
During a recent performance on tvN's variety show, "Dancing Queens on the Road," the singer accidentally injured her face, resulting in a small bleed. However, her unruffled demeanor and quick thinking in the wake of the incident garnered commendation from the public.
In the episode aired on June 15, the cast hosted a mini-concert in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, during which Hwasa, despite showing signs of nervousness initially, delivered an impeccable performance of her song "Maria."
Explaining her choice of the song, Hwasa shared, "Maria is my baptismal name, the name I use abroad. Despite judgments based on appearance, I aim to perform with a positive spirit. This song, to me, is an eternal beacon of hope, consolation, and positivity."
Following her performance, show host Hong Hyun Hee joined Hwasa on stage, inadvertently noticing the small wound on the latter's face, which surprised both Hwasa and the audience as she was unaware of the injury.
With her characteristic poise, Hwasa clarified, "I bumped into the microphone while performing." When her fans expressed concern, she reassured them, "Honestly, I didn't even realize I was in pain."
When the host noted that the blood mark on her face was shaped like a heart, Hwasa quickly turned it into a charming interaction with her fans, quipping, "This is my heart for all of you."
Following the interview, Hwasa left the stage and was greeted by fellow artists Uhm Jung Hwa and BoA, expressing concern over her injury backstage.
Displaying her tenacity, she jovially remarked, "A true performer needs to bleed on stage at least once. Keep going!"
In an earlier episode of KBS 2TV's "Stopping on the Road Once in a While," Hwasa had shared her love for performing, regardless of any unexpected occurrences.
Recounting a past experience, she shared, "I was so elated, I felt like I was on cloud nine. I even ended up sliding on my knees. Only after the performance did I realize my knees were bleeding. But I was so overwhelmed with happiness, I hadn't noticed the injury."
Following this incident, media outlets commended Hwasa's passion for music, highlighting how her determination serves to amplify the power of her performances. Undeterred by minor mishaps, Hwasa's performances, imbued with passion and resilience, continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
