aespa Shines on Main Stage of 'The Governors Ball Music Festival 2023', a First for K-pop Groups
K-pop group aespa bedazzled the main stage at the U.S.'s premier outdoor music event, 'The Governors Ball Music Festival 2023', in New York.
On June 10 (local time), aespa attended 'The Governors Ball Music Festival 2023', held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York, as the first-ever K-pop group to grace the main stage, earning rapturous applause from local music fans.
'The Governors Ball Music Festival' is a three-day annual outdoor music festival in New York, which features four stages and roughly 70 performances. Artists across diverse music and art genres are invited to perform, and this year, alongside aespa, artists like LIZZO, ODESZA, and Kendrick Lamar graced the stages as headliners.
During the event, aespa raised the atmosphere by performing a total of 10 songs, which included their hit tracks such as 'Black Mamba', 'Next Level', 'Savage', 'Girls', 'ænergy', as well as their new songs 'Spicy', 'Salty & Sweet', 'Welcome To MY World', 'Life's Too Short', and 'Hold On Tight' - the latter being English songs crafted for their local audience.
In particular, aespa delivered a richer and more dynamic performance at this show, performing with a live band session. The audience, in turn, fervently enjoyed the concert, repeatedly cheering and chanting aespa's name, further reinforcing the group's global popularity and influence.
Meanwhile, aespa is scheduled to hold their solo concert 'aespa LIVE TOUR 2023 'SYNK: HYPER LINE' in JAKARTA' at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE BSD) in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 24.
