ATEEZ's Mingi To Stay On Hiatus Despite The Group's Comeback
ATEEZ's Mingi to stay on hiatus despite group comeback, his managing label confirms.
While the band braces for a return in the K-pop scene, ATEEZ's managing agency posted an update for the fans concerning the wellbeing of member Mingi. The agency recalled that due to mental distress the young K-pop idol encountered, Mingi took a break last November, and he has since focused on getting better and receiving appropriate treatment.
ATEEZ teased the fans for a possible comeback by posting a photo with a date[March 1] included. Along with KQ Entertainment's announcement, the agency confirmed that Mingi would not be joining the group's comeback, and he will still be on hiatus to recuperate completely.
In the published statement by KQ Entertainment, the label offered their profound gratitude for fans who had been supporting the group since their debut days. The agency confirmed that Mingi is currently undergoing psychological treatment and is now showing positive progress, but because mental distress is not something anyone can take lightly, he still needs time until he is ready and fully recovered, as per the doctor's update.
Moreover, Mingi doesn't want to make a comeback without recovering completely to avoid worrying his fans. The agency asked for understanding for fans as ATEEZ will proceed to the promotional activities with seven members, excluding Mingi, for a while.
Even though Mingi is not present in the promotional activities of ATEEZ, KQ Entertainment confirmed that Mingi had participated in the recording of the upcoming album and so fans can still hear his voice despite Mingi being on hiatus due to health-related issue.
KQ Entertainment said, "The recording for all the songs on the new album was finished before he halted activities, and so you will be able to hear Mingi's voice in the songs. We ask for ATINY's support so that Mingi can return to activities in good health, and in the future, we will share a notice regarding the status of his activities. Thank you."
