BTS And BLACKPINK Compete With International Artists In The 2021 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards
Along with Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and David Guetta, BTS and BLACKPINK are nominated for this year's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards!
The First Nickelodeon Awarding Amid Pandemic
COVID-19 has already been wrecking peace during the last year's Kids' Choice Awards. With the pandemic threats, May 2, 2020, awarding ceremony took place virtually.
Instead of having audiences and performers attend an in-person event, the awards and performances were presented remotely.
During the 2020 Kids' Choice Awards, BTS won the Favorite Music Group. With this, a clip of the group accepting the award was shared during the virtual ceremony.
BTS And BLACKPINK Are Up For An Award
The nominees for this year's ceremony were announced on February 2. Alongside Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, And OneRepublic, BTS and BLACKPINK have been nominated in the Favorite Music Group category.
Furthermore, for the Favorite Song category, BTS's Dynamite scores a nomination alongside Taylor Swift's Cardigan, The Weeknd's Blinding Lights, Drake's Toosie Slide, Shawn Mendes's Wonder, and Justin Bieber's Yummy.
Also receiving nods in the Favorite Music Collaboration category is BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez's Ice Cream. Along with the superstars are Marshmello and Halsey's Be Kind, Justin Bieber's Holy featuring Chance the Rapper, Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco's Lonely, Lady Gaga, and Ariana Grande's Rain on Me, and Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber's Stuck with U.
Moreover, in the running for the Favorite Global Music Star for Asia, BTS is nominated. Also included as nominees are Savannah Clarke (Australia), Master KG (Africa), David Guetta (Europe), Taylor Swift (North America), and Sebastián Yatra (Latin America).
In 2018, the Bangtan Boys won the Favorite Global Music Star trophy at the Kids' Choice Awards.
Meanwhile, on March 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, the 2021 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards will be airing on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons Nick Jr. channels.
