SM Ties With Marvels: SuperM Marks First Collaboration
SuperM is collaborating with Marvel to release select merchandise!
SuperM, on September 25, made a comeback with their first full-length album “Super One” and released the music video for the title track “One (Monster & Infinity).” They also announced on the same day their collaboration with Marvel. They hinted at the release of unique merchandise that combines the members of SuperM with hero characters from Marvel movies.
The Start Of Continuous Collaboration
This partnership marks the beginning of continuous collaboration between SM Entertainment and Marvel. The two companies plan to showcase various associations and give K-pop fans and Marvel fans a new experience.
According to the Marvel senior vice president, Paul Gitter, Marvel has proven to be a very influential lifestyle brand with fans inspired by the world’s most powerful characters and stories. “Through a collaboration with SM Entertainment, Marvel Universe plans to expand into the K-pop culture in a cool and original way through various merchandise and content.”
SuperM: ‘The Avengers Of Kpop’
According to Metro UK, SuperM is set to perform together at Capitol Records in Los Angeles on October 5. SuperM is composed of members from existing boy bands – Kai and Baekhyun from EXO, NCT’s Mark and Taeyong, Taemin from SHINee, and WayV’s Ten and Lucas.
The Marvel deal couldn’t be more in line with their brand as the group is described as “the Avengers of K-pop.”
As Chris Lee, SM Entertainment A&R, told Billboard, they keep describing the group as “Avengers” because they think that’s the best conceptual analogy that will immediately be understood by others.
‘Each Avenger has their group, and Iron Man has his movie, and Thor has his own, but together they have an even greater synergy. The members will pursue their careers and own groups and join together with synergy, a positive one.’
On September 25, the unique merchandise will be unveiled (local time).
