'The Wailing' Film Resurfaces Online As Backstory Of Casting Gets Revealed
Director Na Hong Jin's film "The Wailing" is currently attracting attention from the netizens due to its casting story!
"The Wailing" has resurfaced in different social media platforms, and various online communities and fans can not believe who was initially offered the role of "no-name," a ghost who is known for her blank eyes and mysterious aura. Here is the story behind the casting for the 2016 horror film.
For those who haven't watched the film, the stunningly beautiful actress Chun Woo Hee ultimately took on the role and gave justice to it. But as much they were amazed, fans were even surprised to find out that before Chun Woo Hee was given the role, someone else had been offered the position first.
As it turns out, the role was initially offered to the iconic idol, HyunA. Director Na Hong Jin had his eyes set on HyunA as a successful horror film actress. Moreover, HyunA revealed that director Na Hong Jin visited her at the office and offered her the role of "no-name" in KBS' Happy Together's previous episode.
According to the reports, Director Na Hong Jin accidentally got a close up of HyunA's face. In the hope of pulling something new out of the star who showed off different kinds of energy on stage, the director offered HyunA the role.
However, HyunA rejected the role for an understandable reason. She said, "I thought, showing my full potential on stage came first. So I respectfully declined." The idol was known for her certainty, and it is one reason why fans so loved her.
Meanwhile, actor Chun Woo Hee who appeared in "The Wailing" on behalf of HyunA, was invited to Cannes Film Festival and recently stepped on the red carpet.
In the meantime, HyunA is currently temporarily postponing her activities, such as releasing her new songs and other shows due to her health condition.
