2024's K-pop Landscape Transformation: Hybe's Anticipated Surge with Multiple Debuts
On the first day of stock trading in 2024, Hybe's share price recorded strong gains, signaling a smooth start.
On the 2nd, Hybe closed at 241,500 won, up +3.43% (8,000 won) from the previous trading day.
Despite BTS's military hiatus, Hybe has been anticipating positive performance projections as its artists such as SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans continue to achieve visible success in the global market.
Additionally, the announcement of new group launches has acted as a momentum for the rise. It is expected that the expansion of the artist pipeline will drive profit levels higher.
Recently, Hybe's subsidiary label Pledis Entertainment announced the debut of a new 6-member boy group, TWS, after nine years following SEVENTEEN.
Established in 2005, Pledis Entertainment has cultivated popular groups such as SEVENTEEN, After School, NU'EST, and fromis_9. With the announcement of their debut in the first quarter at last year's Hybe conference call, expectations have been high, and various promotions are currently underway to heat up the debut. The pre-release track "Oh Mymy: 7s" was announced at 6 PM on the 2nd, with the official debut set for the 22nd.
Moreover, another subsidiary label, Belift Lab, which houses ENHYPEN, plans to introduce a new 6-member girl group, I'LL-IT. Formed through the next-generation girl group survival program 'R U Next?' aired on JTBC in September last year, I'LL-IT has received praise for both visuals and talent.
Additionally, the 6-member multinational girl group KATSEYE, formed through 'The Debut: Dream Academy' in collaboration with Universal Music Group's Geffen Records last year, is also preparing for its debut. A documentary capturing their growth story is set to be released on Netflix this year, with debut activities planned in the United States.
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment (YG Entertainment) turned bearish as the additional contract for individual activities with BLACKPINK fell through. On the same day, YG Entertainment closed at 47,550 won, down 6.58% (3,350 won) from the previous trading day.
