BTS Fails to Secure Nomination for Fourth Consecutive Year at the Grammy Awards, No K-pop Artists Nominated
Top idol group BTS (RM, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook) has unfortunately failed to secure a nomination at the Grammy Awards for the fourth consecutive year.
The Recording Academy of the United States announced the nominees for the 66th Grammy Awards through a live stream on the 11th. However, this time, no K-pop artists, including BTS, NewJeans, FIFTY FIFTY, and Stray Kids, were included in the nominations.
Previously, BTS had submitted their songs for the upcoming 66th Grammy Awards, set to be held on February 4th, 2024.
With members Jin, J-Hope, and Suga starting their military service, BTS is in a group hiatus period. This year at the Grammy Awards, the members' solo songs were the main submissions. BTS had been nominated for the Grammy Awards for three consecutive years since 2021 but has yet to win an award.
RM submitted his solo album 'Indigo' for Best Pop Vocal Album and 'Wild Flower' featuring Cherry Filter's Jo Yu-jin for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video. J-Hope's 'On the Street' was submitted for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video, Jin & Coldplay's 'The Astronaut' for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video, and Suga's 'D-Day' for Best Rap Album and 'Haegeum' for Best Rap Performance and Best Music Video.
Jimin's 'FACE' was submitted for Best Pop Vocal Album, and 'Like Crazy' for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video. Jimin's work on the movie 'Fast & Furious: Ride or Die' OST 'Angel Pt. 1' was submitted for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Jungkook also submitted his hit single 'Seven' for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Music Video, while V's 'Layover' was submitted for Best Pop Vocal Album, and 'Slow Dancing' for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Music Video.
