4th Generation Leaders IVE Crowned 'Artist of the Year', A Double Win
IVE (consisting of members An Yujin, Gaeul, Ray, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Lee Seo) has clinched the title of "Artist of the Year" following their recognition as the "World's Best Performer," marking a double victory. On the 10th, at the "2023 The Fact Music Awards" hosted by The Fact and organized by FAN N STAR, IVE was awarded the Artist of the Year, solidifying their status as the leading 4th generation girl group. The "2023 TMA" took place that afternoon at the Incheon Namdong Gymnasium.
Upon receiving the award, IVE expressed, "We are grateful to The Fact officials for the 'Artist of the Year' award. Reflecting on the past year, we've engaged in various activities, and we'd like to thank all the staff members who helped us complete them successfully and healthily."
They continued, "Receiving the 'Artist of the Year' feels overwhelming. We'll take it as encouragement to work harder next year. We hope for continued interest in IVE. We're gearing up for a busy year with our world tour starting just after our recent concert. We promise to greet you with an even better image next year."
The "2023 TMA Artist of the Year" award, given to the most outstanding artists of the year, was determined by combining album and music scores (based on the Circle Chart) at 60% and the scores from the judging panel (including The Fact's editor-in-chief Park Soon-kyu, composers Jo Young-soo and Park Geun-tae, and producer Ryan Jeon) at 40%. The criteria were based on album and music scores from September 25th of the previous year to September 23rd of this year.
IVE made their debut last December with their first single "ELEVEN" and quickly rose to the top of music charts within just seven days. Their first full album "I've IVE," released in April, broke their own record by surpassing 1.6 million sales. Their double title tracks "Kitsch" and "I AM" dominated major music sites, achieving a combined 11 wins on music shows.
IVE will embark on their first world tour "SHOW WHAT I HAVE" starting in Seoul on October 7th. They will also release their first mini-album "I'VE MINE" on the 13th. Making an appearance on the "2023 The Fact Music Awards" stage just before their comeback, IVE heightened expectations for their new album.
The "2023 The Fact Music Awards" began with a red carpet event at 4:30 pm, followed by the main award ceremony at 6:30 pm. The event was attended by top artists including IVE, Stray Kids, ITZY, ENHYPEN, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, TREASURE, Zero Base One, Circus, Boy Next Door, Kwon Eunbi, Jannabi, aespa, NewJeans, Lim Youngwoong, and Lee Chanwon.
