From miss A to 'Lee Doo-na!': Suzy's Idol Transformation Sparks Excitement
The behind-the-scenes footage of the drama 'Lee Doo-na!' featuring singer and actress Suzy has become a hot topic.
On September 2, Netflix Korea released a special behind-the-scenes video for the drama 'Lee Doo-na!', set to premiere in October.
Based on a webcomic of the same name, Netflix's 'Lee Doo-na!' is a romance drama that tells the story of an ordinary college student, Won-jun (played by Yang Se-jong), who encounters Doo-na (played by Suzy), a former glamorous K-pop idol who has retired and now lives in a shared house.
In the drama, Suzy takes on the role of the idol-turned-ordinary woman, Lee Doo-na. In the released video, Suzy introduced herself as "Lee Doo-na, the main vocalist of DreamSweet." Her styling was notably glamorous, and the video showcased Suzy practicing choreography, monitoring her performances, and delivering professional stage acts.
Seeing Suzy perfectly embody the role of a girl group member reminded many of her days in the girl group miss A, garnering explosive attention. Coincidentally, Suzy debuted in 2010 as a member of the JYP Entertainment girl group miss A and received immense love. Although she has not been active as an idol for some time, her character in the drama bears some resemblance to her real-life trajectory.
miss A went on a hiatus without any group activities after their 2015 album release and eventually disbanded. Since then, Suzy has primarily focused on her acting career. The fact that fans can see Suzy transform into an idol again after nearly 8 years makes 'Lee Doo-na!' even more anticipated.
Netizens responded with comments like, "She could re-debut just like that," "I can't wait to watch," and "Perfect casting," showing their support. All eyes are on what story Suzy will unfold in 'Lee Doo-na!'.
Meanwhile, the Netflix drama 'Lee Doo-na!' starring Suzy is set to be released on October 20th.
