BTS V Wraps Up Solo Releases with 'Layover': Completing the Solo Cycle With A Bang
Even though boy group BTS ( RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) has temporarily halted their group activities, the members remain tirelessly active. They continue to connect with fans through individual projects.
According to their agency, Big Hit Music, V is set to release his debut solo album 'Layover' on September 9th.
This album is a collaboration with Min Hee-jin, the chief producer for girl group Newzins and head of Adore. Prompted by V's invitation, Min Hee-jin took part in various aspects of the album's creation, from music and choreography to design and promotion.
The title track is 'Slow Dancing', a romantic soul-style song reminiscent of the 1970s, exuding a free and laid-back vibe. In addition to 'Slow Dancing', the album comprises a total of six tracks, including 'Rainy Days', 'Blue', 'Love Me Again', 'For US', and a piano version of 'Slow Dancing'.
Though V began his individual endeavors in February through the tvN variety show 'Seojin's House', he is the last among the BTS members to release a solo album. He's expected to cap off the solo releases, taking the baton from his fellow members.
Previously, J-Hope released his solo album 'Jack In The Box' in July last year and also participated in singer Crush's digital single 'Rush Hour', contributing his lyrics and featuring in September. Jin unveiled his first solo single 'The Astronaut' on October 28th, while RM launched his solo album 'Indigo' in December.
Jimin collaborated with BIGBANG's Taeyang on the new song 'VIBE' in January and continued his solo endeavors with his debut album 'FACE' in March. The youngest, Jungkook, released his debut solo single 'Seven' last month.
Suga has been dropping personal works under the name 'Agust D' since 2016. Last April, he released the solo album 'D-DAY' and met fans through the world tour 'SUGA Agust D TOUR D-DAY'.
Despite embarking on solo projects, BTS members continue to showcase their prowess. Even though consecutive military enlistments by Jin and J-Hope have temporarily paused their full-group activities, the members are leaving their mark, proving they can shine individually while still embodying the spirit of BTS.
