BTS Jungkook's 'Euphoria' Breaks Through 500 Million Spotify Streams, Proving Impressive Global Popularity
BTS's Jungkook's solo track "Euphoria" is flexing its potent global popularity on Spotify.
Released in August 2018, "Euphoria" recently surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
Despite nearly five years since its release, "Euphoria" is still registering over 400,000 streams per day on average, demonstrating the continuous support and love from listeners worldwide.
The "World Music Awards" (WMA), also known as the "Billboard of Europe," reported the news of "Euphoria" surpassing 500 million streams via its official account and highlighted that it is the most streamed solo song among BTS's discography.
"Euphoria" has also set a record on Billboard's "World Digital Song Sales" chart, becoming the first Korean idol solo song to chart for a remarkable 92 weeks, the longest for any Korean idol solo track. It was the first Korean male idol solo song to sell more than 500,000 units in the United States, and last April, it achieved over one million sales, earning a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
"Euphoria" ranked 26th on the 'BTS' 60 Best Songs' selected by Billboard and demonstrated its strength by also ranking 23rd on the "100 Best BTS Songs" selected by the influential U.S. pop culture magazine Rolling Stone last year.
On Spotify, Jungkook's official account, established in 2022, has a wealth of streamed songs. "Dreamers," the soundtrack of the "2022 Qatar World Cup," has over 320 million streams. His solo track "Seven" has exceeded 110 million, the collaborative song "Left and Right" has over 710 million, and his self-written song "Still With You" has over 36 million streams. Additionally, Jungkook's Spotify account has achieved 1.1 billion streams in the shortest period for a K-pop solo artist, only 453 days, and boasts an unprecedented popularity and influence on the platform, breaking through 7.8 million followers, the fastest for any solo artist in Asia.
In the meantime, Jungkook proved his prominence as a global sensation by ranking first as the most listened to K-pop solo artist in Spotify's "2022 Top K-pop Artist" year-end wrap-up.
