Global star Tony Leung (梁朝偉) is making headlines by making a surprise appearance in the music video of NewJeans' new song.

On the 20th, NewJeans revealed the music video for their new song 'Cool With You' on their official YouTube channel. 'Cool With You' is one of the triple title tracks from NewJeans' new album 'Get Up,' and it was released in both Side A and Side B versions.

In particular, model and actress Jung Ho-Yeon captured the audience's attention by starring in the music video. In the video, she portrayed the role of Eros, who chooses love over divinity, delivering a delicate emotional performance.

At the end of the Side B version, Tony Leung made a short but impactful appearance. The contrast between Jung Ho-Yeon's sudden loss of smile and Leung's watchful gaze heightened the mysterious atmosphere and narrative of the song.

The music video, directed by Shin Woo-Seok of the Dolphin Kidnapping Team, who also directed 'OMG' and 'Ditto', received attention immediately after its release, with numerous speculative posts regarding the video's narrative.

This music video reinterprets the episode of Psyche and Eros from Greek mythology. Director Shin Woo-Seok and Executive Producer Min Hee-Jin said, "We thought of Tony Leung while considering charismatic and powerful actors for a brief appearance."

Leung meticulously analyzed the scenario in advance and showed his enthusiasm by personally proposing his white-haired styling for the music video. "Despite his brief appearance, Leung worked passionately, even proposing his own hairstyle idea. He showed his dedication on set, earning the admiration of the staff," they added.

Such was Leung's passion that he participated in the music video without a performance fee.

Min Hee-Jin, the executive producer, delivered the scenario to Leung through an acquaintance. After reviewing the music video story, Leung decided to appear without a guarantee.

"I was fortunate to have this opportunity and I wanted to give a small gift to my Korean fans," Leung expressed his affection.

Jung Ho-Yeon also said, "I had a lot of fun filming with NewJeans, Tony Leung, and all the staff members, including the Dolphin Kidnapping Team, who I am a fan of. I hope that viewers will also feel this positive energy."

Previously, there had been speculation that BTS's V might appear in the music video. The fact that the global star filming the NewJeans music video was Tony Leung is drawing even more attention.

Tony Leung, who made his debut in the 1983 film '1997 Cloudburst,' has won the love of Korean fans through a diverse filmography including 'Cyclo,' 'Chungking Express,' 'In the Mood for Love,' 'Hero,' 'Infernal Affairs,' and 'Lust, Caution.'

In 2021, he made his Hollywood debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.'

Thanks to Tony Leung's support, as of 1:30 pm on the 20th, NewJeans' 'Cool With You' music video has exceeded 6.05 million views, proving its immense popularity.

Meanwhile, NewJeans' second mini-album 'Get Up' will be released at 1 pm on the 21st.
