BTS Jungkook's Solo Song 'Seven' Sweeps No.1 Spot on iTunes in 106 Countries
Jungkook, a member of the group BTS, has swept the No.1 spot on global music charts with his first solo single.
Jungkook's solo single 'Seven (feat. Lato)', which was simultaneously announced worldwide at 1 pm on July 14th, recorded No.1 on the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 106 countries/regions including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and France as of 9 am on July 15th (KST).
The clean version and instrumental version of 'Seven' also successfully 'lined up' by ranking 2nd and 3rd on the 'Top Songs' chart on iTunes in various countries/regions. His previously released self-composed songs 'Still With You' and 'My You' were also ranked high.
As of midnight on July 15th, 'Seven' topped the Melon TOP100, the largest music site in Korea, and also topped the real-time charts on Genie and Bugs. The music video ranked at the top of the YouTube trending charts in several countries/regions shortly after its release, and it exceeded 10 million views in about 4 hours, surpassing 32.71 million views as of 9 am on the 15th.
'Seven' is a song with lyrics about wanting to spend a whole week with a loved one. The song combines an addictive melody with an acoustic guitar and a rhythm of the 'UK Garage' genre, an electronic music created in the UK in the early 1990s.
