aespa Shatters Record with 1.69 Million First-Week Sales: 'A New High for K-pop Girl Groups'
Girl group aespa has set a new record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop girl group.
aespa's third mini-album 'MY WORLD', which was released on May 8, has exceeded first-week sales of 1,698,784 copies, according to the album sales tally site Hanteo Chart.
With this album, aespa has achieved the highest record among SM Entertainment artists (based on Hanteo Chart). They once again grabbed the title of the highest first-week sales for a girl group, a record they previously set with their album 'Girls', which was released last July, selling 112,606 copies in the first week.
Not only did aespa set a personal record with a total of 1.8 million pre-orders for this album, but they also achieved the highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group with 1.37 million copies sold.
They have once again demonstrated their powerful influence by setting a new first-week sales record for K-pop girl groups.
'MY WORLD' is the album that opens the second season of the SMCU aespa universe. Fans can encounter aespa's new musical world, performances, and fashion as they transition from KWANGYA to the REAL WORLD.
This album, which includes the title track 'Spicy' and a total of six songs of various genres, is receiving hot love as it sweeps both domestic and global charts.
