Late Seo Se-won: Controversy Surrounds Signature and Alleged Propofol Injection
As comedian and broadcaster Seo Se-won (67) is reported to have passed away in Cambodia after receiving an IV infusion, multiple suspicions have been raised surrounding his signature.
On the morning of the 24th, Dispatch reported, "We spoke to a nurse at the Phnom Penh Future Hospital in Cambodia where Seo Se-won passed away. The nurse said that Seo Se-won stopped breathing after receiving an IV injection and, when asked about the type of injection, answered 'Propofol.'"
According to the report, as soon as the nurse mentioned propofol, a Korean administrator intercepted the call, saying, "We don't have propofol here. We don't handle such things," before the connection was lost.
The outlet released photos taken during their visit to the Future Hospital. The images show a bottle of propofol found inside a drawer in the hospital, and a discarded syringe filled with a milky substance, which they claim was discovered in a treatment room on the second floor.
In response, Vice President Park Hyun-ok of the Asian Korean Association countered these claims in an interview with News1, saying, "It's an argument that seeks to slander the deceased. It's not true at all," and "These claims are making the deceased suffer double or triple slander."
Vice President Park also stated, "I think we need to hold the funeral after holding the Future Hospital fully responsible. The hospital should be held accountable, but they are trying to shift the blame onto the deceased."
Meanwhile, Seo Se-won passed away from cardiac arrest at the Phnom Penh Future Hospital in Cambodia on the 20th. His funeral parlor is currently set up at a temple near Boeung Taun in Phnom Penh.
