'Peak Time' Top 6: 'We'll Repay Your Love'
With the final stage of "Peak Time" approaching, the top six teams expressed their gratitude and love for their fans.
On the 18th afternoon, a press conference for JTBC's entertainment program "Peak Time" top six was held at JTBC Studio in Janghang-dong, Ilsan-dong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. The teams present included "7:00", "8:00", "11:00", "13:00", "20:00", and "24:00", who shared stories about the program.
"Peak Time" is a first-of-its-kind team-based idol audition survival show created by the producers of "Singer Again," which caused a sensation with the rebellion of unknown singers. Various teams, from active idols desperate for a stage to those with interrupted careers, disbanded idols, and rookie idols, have competed to determine the six teams to make it to the final live broadcast. They will reveal their original team names and true identities to viewers through a live naming ceremony.
◆ "Thanks to the fans, we made it to the 'Top 6'. Please look forward to the final live broadcast!"
On this day, the cast expressed their feelings about reaching the top six and their gratitude towards viewers, fans, and the "Peak Time" production staff.
Heejae of Team 7:00 said, "When we first applied for 'Peak Time', we never thought the two of us would make it to the top six. We thank all our fans who voted for us." He added, "We were able to reach the top six thanks to the efforts and love of our fans. We have prepared for the live broadcast with a heart to repay their love and gratitude. We will work hard to make sure our final stage is worth the votes."
D1 of Team 8:00 said, "It's an honor to be in this position. Our goal was not to win or reach the top six, but to simply show our best performance on stage. We're happy to have reached this glorious position." He continued, "We believe we've reached the top six happily, enjoying ourselves thanks to the confidence and encouragement from many fans and staff. We'd like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude."
Hyeseong of Team 11:00 said, "During the live broadcast preparations, we always had a desperate heart and prioritized our love for the stage while preparing." He asked fans to vote, saying, "We've prepared hard for the live broadcast, so please vote a lot."
Jaymin of Team 13:00 said, "I think we've come up here because those who support us have voted a lot for us. As this is our last stage, we've worked hard to repay the support of our fans. Please expect great things as we're confident."
Bit Saeon of Team 20:00 said, "I think we've been able to be part of the top six thanks to the viewers and fans, and I'm grateful." He added, "All teams have prepared their best performances ever, so I think we can show you a great stage, and we'll do our best, so please look forward to it."
Moon Jongup of Team 24:00 said, "We've prepared with a sense of responsibility and a desperate heart, but on the final stage, we want to enjoy the performance more than feeling the pressure. We aim to create a stage that everyone can enjoy and remember."
The teams also shared some highlights to watch for in the final stage. Team 7:00 said they would challenge rap after their performance, while Team 8:00 boasted that they had prepared a stage where the audience would be left speechless and cheering, comparing it to "nine birds soaring high in the sky." Team 11:00 hinted at a catchy and simple melody that would allow the audience to sing along and communicate with them.
Team 13:00 emphasized that they had prepared an incredible performance, saying, "Either we're lying on the floor or our feet are off the ground - it's one of the two." Team 20:00 revealed that they were preparing a conceptual stage they had not shown before, while Team 24:00 expressed confidence in portraying harmony among team members and each individual's diverse charm simultaneously.
◆ Team 8:00 "Representative adds another 300 million KRW to the prize"
The final winning team of the "Peak Time" music competition will receive a prize of 300 million KRW (approximately $248,000). When asked about their plans for the prize money, Team 7:00's Ire stated, "We are a duo. We don't have a company. We will split the prize money in half after taxes," drawing laughter. She continued, "I want to give many gifts to our parents. We are on the older side among the contestants, and I know it wasn't easy for our parents to watch us pursuing music at this age. I want to give gifts and spend time repaying those around us."
Team 7:00's Heejae added, "My mother has struggled a lot, so I've prepared a lineup of luxury bags to give her, even though it may be a bit premature. I've chosen brand L and have been checking the price differences online," eliciting laughter. Heejae also mentioned, "There are too many places I need to treat others if we win. Our Top 6 members have also asked for treats, and I want to be generous to those around us. There have been many people who have helped us when we were just a duo."
Team 8:00's Haeryjun expressed, "If we win the 300 million KRW, I'd like to go on a trip with my fellow members, have fun, and eat without worrying about money. If we go overseas, I'd like to visit the United States or Switzerland." Team 11:00's Hyesung said, "I haven't thought about how to spend the prize money yet, but I'd like to buy a suit for our representative, who made our team banner, and give gifts to our parents. Also, I promised to have lamb skewers with Team 13:00's Bit if we win the prize."
Team 13:00's Hankyul mentioned Kim Kwangsoo, the producer of their affiliated team BAE137, saying, "Our representative said he would give us an additional 300 million KRW if we win the prize. I said this to motivate and preserve the moment," drawing laughter. He continued, "If we win 600 million KRW, we will divide it among the members and show our filial piety to our parents."
◆ "First concert of our lives, eager to meet the audience!"
The Top 6 teams of "Peak Time" will meet their fans through the "Peak Time Concert: YOUR TIME" performance, beginning on May 5th in Jamsil Indoor Stadium, Seoul, and continuing with performances nationwide. Most teams have never held a solo concert before, so expectations are high.
Team 24:00's Moon Jongup said, "I'm so happy we can hold a concert together. I think we'll be able to show the stages we've performed on the show," and added, "We haven't discussed concert details yet since we're still focused on the finals, but we'll do our best to show a great performance."
Team 20:00's Bit Saeon mentioned, "We're currently preparing for the finals, so we haven't had a chance to practice for the concert yet. However, all teams are preparing to make sure the audience won't regret attending." They also expressed excitement about performing in Seoul for the first time, along with other teams who will be performing for the first time as well.
Team 13:00's Jaymin shared, "Like the other teams, this is our first concert, so we're very excited. We're managing our diet and appearance, as well as exercising diligently to meet our fans in the best possible shape."
Team 11:00's Hyesung said, "We've only shown our performances on TV so far. This will be the first time we present our joint mission stages in front of a live audience, and I think many people are looking forward to it." Hyesung also mentioned, "In 'Love Killa,' there's a kiss scene between Asian and Gon that people might be eager to see in person. Additionally, the much-talked-about 'Bad' stage will be available for the audience to watch."
Team 7:00's Heejae shared, "We're very excited and thrilled. Since there is no competition or elimination, we can fully enjoy the stage and show 100% or 120% of our energy to the audience. We're also looking forward to interacting with our fans as Team 7:00."
The final episode of 'Peak Time' will be broadcast earlier than usual, airing on the 19th at 8:30 pm (KST).
