BLACKPINK Announces New Dates For Asia Leg Of 'BORN PINK' Tour
Mega K-pop band BLACKPINK has announced the new show dates and venues for the Asia leg of their ongoing "BORN PINK" tour.
The group's agency, YG Entertainment added four show dates to the upcoming schedule of the group, with an extra day for their concerts in Kaohsiung, Singapore, and two days in Macau.
The following is the complete itinerary for the forthcoming performances in Asia this year.
January 7 and 8 - National Stadium, Bangkok
January 13, 14, and 15 - Asia World Arena, Hong Kong
January 20 - Mrsool Park, Riyadh
January 28 - Etihad Park, Abu Dhabi
March 4 - National Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur
March 11 and 12 - Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta
March 18 and 19 - Kaohsiung National Stadium, Kaohsiung
March 25 and 26 - Philippine Arena, Manila (Bulacan)
May 13 and 14 - National Stadium, Singapore
May 20 and 21 - Galaxy Arena at Galaxy Macau, Macau
At the moment, however, it is not clear, whether more Asian countries or venues will be added to the list. The ticketing info too for the shows that have been newly announced has still not been released.
Meanwhile, The band successfully completed the first stop of the Asia tour in Thailand, the home country of the group's maknae Lisa. Reportedly, there have been more than 1.6 million tweets with the hashtag #BORNPINKinBangkok.
Last week, the quartet, comprising of Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, created history by becoming the first K-pop band to earn 2 billion YouTube views on their 2018 music video "DDU-DU DDU-DU".
Recently, YG Entertainment also gave the confirmation that the band's eldest member aka unnie Jisoo will make her solo debut this year. Jisoo is simultaneously working on recording her solo album, and completing the jacket photo shoot for the album, while also being busy with the world tour.
BLACKPINK dropped "BORN PINK", their sophomore studio album last year in September. The group then embarked on the world tour of the same name, setting a record for being the largest world tour to be held by a K-pop girl band.
The group completed the North American leg of the tour last year with 14 concerts spread over seven cities, after which they started with the European part of the concerts of which there were 10 shows in total in seven cities.
