On July 23, Somi appeared as a celebrity guest at the "SAP" of Naver NOW, organized by Zion T.

Speaking of her new single "What You Waiting For," launched on July 22, Zion T commented on her YouTube music video, pointing out that she may have a hard time because of the song's choreography and asked if how BLACKPINK's Lisa reacted to the video. Somi stated that Lisa commended her choreography for her soundtrack and said that she might have seen something beautiful.

She went on to say that Lisa even loved the choreography better than her 'BIRTHDAY' music video. Somi revealed that there are two initial choreographies planned for the music video, but they had to choose only one from it. Lisa helped her decide on the best choreography that fits her music video track, claiming that it was a lot of help on her end. (via Soompi)

When questioned about what made her happy these days, Somi said it was when her first teaser to her much-awaited song was dropped. She also admitted that recalling the days of the music video and teaser shooting makes her emotional.

Somi points out that she intensely focuses on songwriting, and tends to lose herself in it, so she started to record things on her phone on whatever crosses her mind.

She continued, "When I was a trainee, I made clear that I intended to take lessons for writing lyrics and composing songs. Yet it didn't work successfully, and I was even more committed to trying it myself, and I kept recording on my mobile device. The track that emerged out of that phase of 'Outta My Head.'

When questioned if she wishes to connect her name with a specific phrase, Somi answered, "I prefer it to be 'Endless Jeon Somi.' Just a bulldozer that never stops."
