Lai Kuanlin wins his civil lawsuit case against Cube Entertainment after years of process to confirm the invalidity of the exclusive contract.

The former Wanna One member Lai Kuanlin requested to end his contract with Cube Entertainment in July 2019.  Chaeum Attorneys At Law released a statement to correct the false information written in Cube Entertainment's press release.

The reason for the request is that the agency had taken actions that violated their contract. However, in November of the same year, Seoul Central District Court dismissed Lai Kuanlin's request to terminate the agreement.

Cube Entertainment released a statement regarding the dismissal of Lai Kuanlin. The company will welcome the court's decision and informed the public that there is no reason for the termination of the contract between them and Lai Kuanlin.

The company also apologized for causing all the fans to have concern over the matter. The public has been worried during that time, and Cube Entertainment will continue to show good relationships and appearance to their artists.

Moreover, in May 2020, Lai Kuanlin filed for an appellate trial and was dismissed by the Seoul High Court.  Afterward, Lai Kuanlin's legal representative filed another lawsuit on merits to invalidate the contract with Cube Entertainment. As a result, four trials were held regarding the case.

The final judgment hearing was held on June 17 at the Seoul Central District Court. During the hearing, the court ruled Cube Entertainment and Lai Kuanlin's exclusive contract invalid. However, the court also added that the defendant would be responsible for paying the litigation expenses.

Lai Kuanlin was a participant and competed in 'Produce 101 Season 2' as a trainee of Cube Entertainment in 2017. He also debuted as a member of Wanna One in 2017. After following his idol activities in Korea, he debuted as an actor in China.
