Shin Sung Rok Halting Activities After COVID-19 Positive Diagnosis
Shin Sung Rok is in isolation after his co-actor in the musical play called Dracula tested positive for COVID-19. Although his testing turned out negative on April 24, he still needs to comply with the self-quarantine protocol for people who came in close contact with someone who contracted the virus.
Unfortunately, while in quarantine, he started to feel sick and was tested again for COVID-19. On the 27th, his results came back with a positive result this time. Allkpop reported that Shin Sung Rok's condition was confirmed by his agency, HB Entertainment.
The 38-year-old actor and variety show star is being treated at a therapy facility now. In his musical stage play that was mentioned earlier, he is the latest one to test positive for coronavirus as three other people including co-star Son Jun Ho are reportedly undergoing treatment since receiving their positive test results on April 23.
As per the Korea Joongang Daily, Son Jun Ho's agancy, Sidus HQ, released a statement last week to confirm that the actor is sick. This announcement was what prompted Shin Sung Rok to self-isolate and get tested on the 24th.
"Son had been feeling unwell recently, so he voluntarily received the coronavirus test and the result came out positive, so he went into quarantine straight away," Sidus HQ stated. "We contacted all those who came in contact with the actor so that they can undergo tests immediately as well."
At any rate, aside from the musical play, the talented actor who is widely known for his villainous characters in dramas like the My Love from the Star has a regular television show on SBS as well. However, this program was not affected by the actor's COVID-19 diagnosis since he was only in close contact with his musical co-stars before he went into self-quarantine.
An official from the said South Korean TV Network stated on April 28 that filming for the Master in the House where the actor is a fixed cast member will proceed as scheduled even with the absence of one. Meanwhile, Shin Sung Rok joins the list of celebrities who recently tested positive including Byun Jung Soo, Park Se Ri and Kwon Hyuk Soo.
