Lee Jung Hyun Reveals Why Fans Love Kang Dong Won So Much
The most awaited sequel of "Train to Busan," "Peninsula," has finally taken place after four years, in a ruined Korea overrun by zombies.
"Peninsula" recently broke records with the highest number of first-day moviegoers since South Korea raised the COVID-19 alert level in February.
The sequel also stars a few of the most prominent actors in the country, including Kang Dong Won, Lee Jung Hyun, Lee Re, Kwon Hae Hyo, and Kim Min Jae, as per Soompi.
On July 16, Lee Jung Hyun sat down for an interview to promote her starred movie "Peninsula."
In the interview, Lee Jung Hyun thanked all their fans for the overwhelming support for the movie "Peninsula" despite their fears that no one might watch the film on theaters because of the threats of COVID-19. The actress also shared that they keep on asking their director if it is okay to release their movie in this kind of season, but they were quenched after learning their first-day performance.
The actress also talked about her portrayal in the movie, which she described as a tough mom with immense maternal love. As the actress enjoyed reading the script, the actress fell in love with her character, who embodies a strong woman whose strength comes from her motherhood.
Lee Jung Hyun also shared her first impression with her co-star Kang Dong Won. The actress said that the actor is so kind, respectful, and relaxed. And as she discovers how dedicated the actor to their movie, she then asked herself if Dong-Won still has time for love.
The actress also expressed in her interview that actor Kang Dong Won is still humble even in his popularity, and there's no wonder why fans love him so much.
Lee Jung Hyun also noted that Lee Re and Lee Ye-Won, who play as her daughters in the movie, had matured so much that they seem so far from being the child actors they used to be in the past.
The "Peninsula" actress also shared her thoughts being a singer, and she said that she doesn't have plans yet to come back as a singer because of the threats of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the film "Peninsula" has been included in the Cannes Fim Festival's 2020 Official Selection list along with another South Korean movie, "Heaven: To the land of Happiness," as reported by The Korean Times.
