A handful of K-pop idols are known for their fascinating visuals, adding up to their singing, rapping, and dancing talents. However, today, there are also famous idols that were accepted as idol trainees because of their visuals alone.

Kpopstarz listed the seven trainees who emerged victorious because of their charms.

BTS JIN

Jin was eyed to be a talent of not only Big Hit Entertainment but also by SM Entertainment. He was first noticed by a scouting agent from SM when he was still in junior high school but eventually denied the offer because he thought it was a scam. If Jin accepted the offer, he could be a part of EXO since, at that time, SM was still trying to collect members for the said group.

Jin was then scouted by Big Hit while exiting a bus.

WayV LUCAS

In an episode of ‘Knowing Bros,’ Lucas shared that he underwent an audition for SM Entertainment without any preparation. During the audition, he only showed three-camera poses and luckily passed. When asked about his dancing and singing skills, he responded dancing and flaunted a simple clap groove.

RED VELVET IRENE

In a GQ Magazine feature, Irene confirmed that she auditioned for SM Entertainment but did not make the cut. The idol wanted to be a singer who luckily got a call back from the agency, saying they wanted her to ink a contract with them.

ATSRO CHA EUNWOO

Chae Eunwoo once revealed that he was cast on the street while exiting the restroom at a school event. He said that a scouting agent came to him and gave a name card, offering the idol an audition for Fantagio.

EXO SEHUN

SM Entertainment scouted Sehun at twelve years old while eating lunch with his friends. Sehun’s initial reaction is something any child would do; he ran away from the agent because he was told by his parents to not interact with strangers.

ITZY RYUJIN

A casting agent found Ryujin during GOT7’s fan meeting event in 2015. She shared that someone approached her and asked for her number while she was in the restroom. Even though she felt nervous about giving out her number, she gave in because the agent looks trustworthy.

SEVENTEEN MINGYU

Same with Euwnoo, Mingyu was cast on the street when he was still attending middle school. At that time, being an idol did not come to his senses, not until someone from ana agency approached him for an audition.
