Jimin of the group BTS (Bangtan Boys) has made a remarkable impact with his solo single 'Closer Than This,' which has been dominating major global charts for two consecutive days. His song has outperformed carol mega-hits, increasing its No.1 tally in various countries/regions and proving its mighty influence.

Released on December 22nd (KST), 'Closer Than This' had, by 8 AM on the 24th, topped the iTunes 'Top Songs' charts in 106 countries/regions, including the US, UK, Canada, and France. The song had previously reached the summit of the 'Top Songs' chart in 90 countries/regions on iTunes, hinting at its burgeoning popularity.

Buoyed by the love of music enthusiasts, 'Closer Than This' has maintained its No.1 position on both the 'Worldwide iTunes Song' and 'European iTunes Song' charts for two days straight (December 22-23). Its music video also quickly ascended to No.1 on YouTube's Music Video Worldwide Trending upon release and has since consistently held the top spot, continuing to rake in popularity.

Despite the season's strong showing of carols like Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' and Wham!'s 'Last Christmas,' which occupy more than half of the 'Worldwide iTunes Song' and 'European iTunes Song' charts, Jimin's achievement is significant.

Moreover, 'Closer Than This' has also made a notable appearance on Japan's Oricon chart. As of the latest chart released on the 23rd (dated December 22nd), 'Closer Than This' debuted at No.1 on the 'Daily Digital Single Ranking.' With this, Jimin has triumphantly placed numerous songs at the top of this chart within the year, including his collaboration 'VIBE' with Taeyang, solo song 'Promise,' tracks from his first solo album 'FACE' released in March - 'Set Me Free Pt.2', 'Like Crazy,' and his solo single 'Closer Than This'.
